About Sherpa Throw

Sherpa is a 2-3 year old, 80lb male Labrador Retriever mix who was found in rough shape but is now ready to blossom! He was discovered hiding, covered in wounds, flea-infested, and battling heartworms. After months of dedicated medical care and treatment, Sherpa has made a full recovery, and his truly wonderful personality is shining through!

Sherpa embodies the best qualities of a working dog – he's intelligent, diligent, and has a touch of independence. He's friendly with people and generally gets along well with other dogs of similar size, though he often prefers to explore his surroundings or focus on a task. He's a sweet boy who aims to please, but he's still maturing and working on his social skills.

Ideal Home

Sherpa would thrive in a home where he can continue to explore and engage in tasks. While he enjoys the company of people and other dogs, he might be happiest with an adopter who understands his independent spirit and allows him space to be himself.

Ongoing Health

Sherpa has fully recovered from heartworms and his past injuries. He is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Sherpa is currently enrolled at Instinct Dog Behavior and Training, where he is excelling in scent work and refining his communication skills. His adopter will receive 8 FREE private training sessions with Instinct's trainers (available in-person for those in NYC or willing to travel, or virtually from anywhere) to ensure a smooth and successful transition.
