Rather

Rather is a sweet, loving, and well-behaved young male dog who arrived at the rescue as a black mix. He was doing well until a previous meet-and-greet resulted in an unfortunate encounter with another dog, leaving Rather worried about meeting unknown dogs. He's learned that being vocal can help keep other dogs at a distance. While careful, slow introductions with other dogs can help, Rather is perfectly content being a solo dog. His foster home ensures he gets his exercise during walks at times and locations where he won't encounter other dogs, and he's also happy with a yard of his own. He loves learning new commands and behaviors, and with a little extra effort to prevent further trauma, he's sure to be a wonderful companion.

Ideal Home

Rather would be happiest as a solo dog, or in a home where careful and slow introductions to new dogs can be managed. He's also perfectly content with a yard for exercise and may not need walks at all.
