Meet Huey! This distinguished gentleman, also known as His Excellency or Mayor of Leisureville, is a 70-pound bundle of wisdom and good manners. Huey is a collector of tennis balls and a true connoisseur of snacks, and he's beloved by all who meet him. He's a retired statesman who prefers peaceful companionship over chaos and enjoys leisurely neighborhood walks and quiet relaxation. He's perfectly happy to lie nearby, supervise household activities, or occupy himself with a tennis ball while you binge-watch your latest obsession.
Ideal Home
Huey would thrive in a home that appreciates his calm demeanor and understands his need for personal space. He gets along with calm, respectful dogs and cats, but high-energy creatures with no concept of personal space may find themselves on his "absolutely not" list. Due to a past report (the circumstances of which are unknown and not observed in his current care), a home with older, respectful children is recommended.
Ongoing Health
Huey has some arthritis and mild hip dysplasia, which he manages beautifully with medication and supplements. He's almost blind in one eye and mostly deaf, though loud clapping and high-pitched sounds still catch his attention. He's currently transitioning to a 100% raw diet with extra supplements to help with his spring allergies and ensure he feels his best.
Training & Support
Huey guard his food and toys, so supervision and respectful boundaries are important. He is housebroken and good on leash, though he prefers to meander at his own pace. He does spectacularly free-roaming the house and prefers not to be crated.
