Otis is house trained, crate trained, easy to live with, and settles beautifully indoors. He loves toys, enjoys car rides, and lights up for walktime. His leash manners are lovely too. He walks at an easy pace and prefers peaceful strolls over chaotic adventures. While he can navigate busier parks or neighborhoods, he prefers calmer environments and predictable routines. He is more of a quiet morning coffee on the porch kind of soul. Otis bonds hard to his people. His foster shared that he is incredibly loving at home, playful with toys, affectionate, and deeply loyal. He simply needs relationship-building and patience before that side emerges. He is very much a slow-burn dog. He notices who makes him feel safe, who listens to him, who gives him room to breathe, and then slowly, steadily, he opens up. With other dogs, Otis is more aloof than social. He tends to avoid pressure from pushy dogs and has shown himself to be submissive and gentle in interactions. His foster mentioned he tends to prefer calm, confident female dogs, which tracks with his overall softer personality. Our transport includes drop off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
