Penny is a sweet, incredibly intelligent, and high-energy French Bulldog mix who is about 3.5 years young. She's a bit of a slow burn when it comes to affection, needing time and patience to build trust, but once she settles in, she's a true delight! Penny is a curious explorer who loves walks, hiking, and swimming, making her the perfect adventure buddy. She's known for her joyful flips when excited and her adorable grunts and grumbles that will surely bring a smile to your face. Penny has been working hard with a professional trainer and knows commands like "sit," "stay," "heel," and "fetch." She also comes crate-trained and enjoys car rides.

Penny would thrive in a single-pet household where she can be the sole focus of your attention. She needs a home that understands the common health issues associated with French Bulldogs and is committed to managing her allergies and potential respiratory distress. A calm environment with limited stress and a strong understanding of gradual introductions to new people will help her feel most secure.
Ongoing Health
Penny has allergies to turkey, chicken, duck, lamb, and fish, and is currently doing well on a diet of beef, kangaroo, or pork. She is on Fluoxetine and Gabapentin, which have significantly helped manage her needs. She is up-to-date on vaccinations, is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and on year-round flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Pet insurance is a must for her future adopters.
Training & Support
Penny can be protective and territorial with other dogs indoors and exhibits resource guarding behavior towards them. Careful and controlled introductions to any new dogs are essential. While she can be initially apprehensive about physical handling, she has made great progress and needs continued patience. She will alarm bark at knocks and doorbells but is not overly vocal otherwise.
