Vanna

Meet Vanna, an approximately 4-year-old spayed and vaccinated German Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her personality. She's a playful, affectionate, and very "velcro" dog who loves to be close to her people. Once bonded, she's happiest by your side, whether you're relaxing at home or out on an adventure. Vanna has medium energy levels and would thrive in an active home. She enjoys playing fetch and going for walks, and she's a great car companion. At home, she's trusted to roam freely and is not destructive, as her main desire is to be near her favorite humans.

Ideal Home

Vanna would do best as the only dog in the home, though she can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) if there are no resources to guard or compete over. She's good at reading when another dog is done playing. She is not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash depending on how other dogs behave towards her, so continued leash work and training will be important. She does great with dog-savvy cats! Vanna is reserved with strangers but friendly and warms up with time. She may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries. She is accustomed to a home without stairs and settles nicely into a routine.

Vanna is spayed and vaccinated. She has experienced significant trauma and is actively working on negative behaviors around other dogs.

Training & Support

Vanna has some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people. She will need continued support with leash manners and is still polishing up her potty training, with occasional accidents. She is crate trained. With patience, consistency, and understanding, Vanna has great potential to continue growing.
