Meet Ponderosa, or "Pondsy" as we affectionately call him! This handsome, almost-2-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix is about 60 pounds of pure joy and wiggles. Pondsy has a shiny black coat and warm brown eyes that will melt your heart. When he sees his favorite people, his whole body wiggles with excitement, and he'll happily flop over for belly rubs! He's a curious and silly pup who loves to be included in every adventure, whether it's a hike, a car ride, or just snuggling on the couch. He's the perfect blend of energetic explorer and devoted snuggle bug.
Ideal Home
Pondsy would thrive in a home without cats, as they are a bit too tempting for him. He's also best suited for homes with teenagers (13+) or adults, as he can find small children a bit overwhelming. He'd be happy as your one and only, or with a friendly, medium-energy female dog who enjoys playful romps. While he could adapt to apartment living (first floor preferred) with enough exercise and mental stimulation, a yard for him to play in would be extra special.
Ongoing Health
Pondsy is a trooper! He underwent leg surgery and completed physical therapy. While his back leg has a unique characteristic now, it doesn't slow down his zest for running, playing, and zooming.
Training & Support
Pondsy is a smart boy who has received professional training and behavioral assessments. He's working on his general good-boy manners and is eager to please his humans.

Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. You can track your pet's journey in real-time and receive photo updates. Please note, Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
