Meet Hugo — a striking, solid black Labrador with a love for water stronger than oxygen itself! At 3 years old and a hefty 65 pounds, Hugo is fairly tall for a Lab and built for action. If there’s a puddle, pond, hose, or lake nearby, this water-loving boy will find it in seconds. Hugo is a highly active Lab who thrives when he has a job to do or training to focus his big, athletic energy. Structure, enrichment, and consistency help him shine, and he’s eager to learn when given direction. At just one year old, Hugo was heartbreakingly labeled “too crazy” and abandoned—when in reality, he was simply a young puppy full of life. Now older and more mature, he’s looking for a family willing to teach him the ways of being a well-mannered house dog and give him the stability he missed early on. With patience, outlets for his energy, and plenty of water adventures, Hugo will grow into an incredible companion—loyal, joyful, and always ready for the next adventure. Hugo is ready for his second chance, his forever family, and a life filled with love and splashes.

Hugo is available for adoption in VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, TN & KY, IL, IN, WA, & OH. Custom transports are available when needed. Transport fees range from $150-$500. Pick-up at our Angleton, TX location is available for a $75 fee.
