Rye is a 2-year-old, 56 lb bundle of sunshine and happiness, with a smile that can brighten any day. He's a goofy Labrador Retriever mix who loves to snuggle, often with a playful wiggle or a move that resembles a marriage proposal. Rye is eager to please, affectionate, and happiest when he's close to his people. He greets everyone like a long-lost best friend and approaches every day with pure joy. While he can get a little jumpy when excited, he's quickly learning that sitting earns him more praise.

Ideal Home

Rye would thrive in a home that enjoys playtime, walks, and some structure. He could do well in an apartment with plenty of exercise and enrichment, but a house with a yard would be his dream come true.

Ongoing Health

Rye is healthy and up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. He has also been tested for heartworms and treated if needed.

Training & Support

Rye is working on his leash skills, as he can be a bit boisterous when walking, but he is a quick learner and responds well to treats and corrections. He is also learning to manage his excitement around new people and other dogs. With a little guidance, he'll be a well-mannered pup in no time!

Transporation

Rye is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide using our rescue-run, USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You can track their journey in real-time, receive photo updates, and connect with fellow adopters and fosters through a private Facebook event page. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
