About Polly
Meet Polly, a delightful 38lb Cattle Dog Retriever mix who embodies the spirit of a perpetual puppy with the sweetest personality. She's already spayed, vaccinated, and completely up-to-date on all preventatives, making her ready to step right into her forever home. Polly has a gentle, go-with-the-flow nature and loves to be a part of whatever her humans are doing.
Polly is a joy to have around! She absolutely adores toys, enjoys playing with other dogs, and has a bouncy, happy energy when it's time for fun. If another dog wants to play, Polly is always game to join in. She has also been around children aged 6 and up and has done well with them. We don't have any history of her interactions with cats.
While Polly enjoys playtime, she's generally a low-energy girl. She's just as happy to relax and cuddle as she is to toss a toy around. She's affectionate, snuggly, and loves being close to her people. She can be a little shy when meeting new individuals, but she warms up quickly once she feels safe.
Polly has excellent house manners; she's fully house-trained and crate-trained for up to six hours. She travels well in the car and shows no signs of resource guarding or food aggression. She's currently working on her leash manners and may pull occasionally, but given her smaller size, she's easy to manage as she continues to learn.
Like many young dogs, Polly is still learning the ropes of home life and will benefit from a patient adopter who can provide consistent guidance. Because she can sometimes get into things when unsupervised, she should be crated when left alone. With consistency and routine, she will continue to blossom.
Overall, Polly is a truly lovely dog who will thrive in almost any home. Whether it's a family, a couple, or someone seeking a loyal companion, Polly has an abundance of love to give. With a little time to settle into a new routine, she'll make a wonderful and devoted best friend.
