Hi there! My name is Crackle, and I'm an approximately four-month-old pup looking for my forever home. I'm mostly black with a very charming white mask on my nose, and I have both clear and black nails – my foster mom even said I was a good boy when she trimmed them because they were getting a little sharp!
I'm a smart cookie, and while my brother enjoys a game of fetch, I prefer to "work smarter, not harder" by waiting for him to bring the toy back before trying to snag it. But don't worry, my foster mom is teaching me to play fair! I absolutely love my Nylabone, but even more than that, I love snuggling up next to my foster mom. If you're looking for a cuddle buddy, I'm your guy!
I'm doing exceptionally well with potty training, having not had an accident in about four days. I'm also a pro at crate training and happily settle in for the night without a fuss. I am working on some mild separation anxiety, so a little extra patience and consistent training in that area would be wonderful.
I can be a bit shy and timid when encountering new things, but once I get the hang of it, I become quite confident! For instance, I was hesitant about the apartment stairs at first, but now I bound up them faster than my brother. I do sometimes let out little whiny protests when my brother bothers me during naptime. While I'm timid, I do tend to bark when I hear someone nearby or see others when I'm out for potty breaks, but we're working on that. We're also practicing "sit," taking treats gently, and waiting for an "OK" before I eat. I'm a very smart boy and picking up new things quickly!
