Sweet Boone is a 2-year-old, neutered Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who weighs approximately 18 pounds. He has the kindest face and the softest, most soulful eyes. Boone came to us after being rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, where he lived outdoors among piles of trash and debris with very little human interaction. Despite everything he's been through, Boone has remained incredibly gentle, sweet, and eager to experience the love he has always deserved. Like many dogs from neglect situations, Boone is still learning that the world can be a safe place, but he's making steady progress every day. He is a quiet, thoughtful little guy who would much rather observe before jumping into something new. Once he feels comfortable, his sweet personality shines through. Boone doesn't need an exciting lifestyle to be happy; he simply wants a family that will celebrate his small victories, appreciate his gentle nature, and give him the time he needs to blossom. Boone is ready for his second chance and is hoping his forever family is out there waiting to show him what home truly feels like.

Boone would do best in a calm, patient home that will continue his socialization and help him build confidence at his own pace. A quieter home may be the best fit, and a friendly, confident resident dog could help show him that people and new experiences aren't so scary after all.
