Drax

Meet Drax, a charming 7-year-old male with a striking black and gold brindle coat, distinguished by his snazzy white boots, chest, and a dashing mask. Weighing in at a solid 85-90 pounds, Drax is a bundle of joy with a sweet nature and a smart brain that soaks up new tricks like a sponge. He was a bit weak in the hind end when he first came into rescue, but he's powered through and is now almost superhero strong! Drax is a gentle soul who enjoys playtime with his pals and is incredibly laid-back when it comes to his space, toys, food, and water. He even strolls like a pro without tugging on the leash! Drax is a clever boy who knows 'sit', 'wait', 'kennel', and occasionally 'lay'.

Ideal Home

Drax would love a home where he can continue to be playful and relaxed. He enjoys the company of kids, dogs, and birds.

Ongoing Health

Drax had some weakness in his back end when he came into rescue, but he has made a great recovery and is now nearly back to full strength. He is also water-obsessed, which can sometimes lead to occasional house-training accidents.

Training & Support

Drax is a quick learner and enjoys training sessions. He is working on keeping all four paws on the ground and is learning the art of toy play. New environments can initially make him jittery, causing him to pant and need frequent potty breaks, but he settles in quickly once he feels comfortable. While excellent on leash when alone, he can get overly excited and pull when he sees other dogs.
