JEFFERSON*

Meet Jefferson, a friendly Shepherd mix who came to us as a stray. Because we don't know much about his past, we're eager to learn all about his future with his forever family! Jefferson has shown himself to be a strong, yet friendly, pup. He's even made a friend here at the shelter with an adolescent husky named Bandit, and they've enjoyed playing together.

Ideal Home

A home with another dog might be a perfect match for Jefferson, but they'll need to meet and get along first at the shelter. We don't have any information about how he is with cats or children.

Ongoing Health

Jefferson will be neutered before he goes home with his new family.

Training & Support

Jefferson is available for pre-adoption. Come meet him, fall in love, and take him home after his neuter surgery! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is offering "Pawsitivity Bucks" with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher can help you and your new canine companion connect with local positive reinforcement-based behavior consultants to start your journey together on the right paw!

Transportation

Jefferson is located at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter. Our shelter hours are 11 am to 6 pm, 7 days a week. While you can see animals in their kennels during open hours, "meet and greets" (meeting an animal outside of their kennel) end daily at 4:30 pm. To ensure you have enough time to discuss individual animals and meet them, please arrive before 4:00 pm if you'd like to meet an animal outside of their kennel.
