About Annie

Annie is a sweet, spunky 3-4 month old Shih Tzu and poodle mix pup weighing around 7 lbs. She's expected to reach about 20 lbs when fully grown. Annie is affectionate, loving, and a natural explorer who enjoys investigating new things. She's a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and other dogs, making her a great companion for an active family ready to include her in their daily adventures. Annie has a wonderful balance of playful energy and a laid-back cuddle bug vibe. She loves to play with her toys and can entertain herself, but she also cherishes cuddle time with her humans.

Ideal Home

Annie would thrive in a home that includes her in daily life, providing plenty of love, exercise, and attention. A fenced yard would be wonderful for her to run and play. She'd be happy with another playful dog and some kids to interact with, but she would also be content as the sole focus of affection. She enjoys adventures, whether it's exploring new places, going on walks, or visiting "Sniff Spots" for enrichment. Ideally, her humans work from home or have a hybrid schedule. She cannot be left alone for more than 8 hours without playtime and potty breaks, so a dog walker or doggy daycare is recommended for longer workdays. Annie should not go to public dog parks.

Ongoing Health

Annie is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has a clean bill of health and has received necessary veterinary care while in rescue.

Training & Support

Annie is kennel trained and potty trained, and has begun leash training. She alerts her foster family when she needs to go outside by circling at the back door, and a doggy doorbell is recommended to help her learn this in her new home. She needs a consistent schedule and frequent potty breaks initially, but she adapts quickly. She is starting to teethe, so supervision is needed to ensure she doesn't chew on inappropriate items. She can be wiggly when excited and picked up, so older children who are experienced with small breeds and know how to handle her carefully are recommended.
