Hi, my name is Asher! I'm a fun-loving, playful, and active guy, around 3 years old and weighing approximately 40 lbs. Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I'm so grateful to be here. The volunteers love my unique mixed breed look, my handsome ginger brindle coat, and my compact build. I participated in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training program and learned so much! Now, I'm in a wonderful foster home, eagerly waiting to meet my perfect match.
Ideal Home
I'm a sweet, happy, and goofy guy with a lot of playful energy. A home with a fenced backyard would be ideal for my favorite activity: chasing a ball! I'd also make a great office dog as I can entertain myself. I enjoy walks and need a family who will be active with me. Because I can get a little too excited around younger children and they make me uncomfortable, I'd do best in a home with kids aged 15 and older. I cannot live with cats. While I enjoy playing with other dogs, I need to be the only dog in the home as I can be protective of my toys and bed. My trainer will guide you on how to introduce me to new dogs.
Ongoing Health
I am up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. I may need to wear a muzzle during vet visits and nail trims as these can be a little scary for me.
Training & Support
I'm a proud graduate of the Prison Pups immersive training program, so I know commands like 'sit,' 'stay,' 'down,' 'come,' 'drop it,' 'leave it,' and 'place.' I have excellent potty manners and good leash manners. I'm learning to use the 'leave it' command to stay focused on walks when I get distracted by sounds. I'm very food-motivated, which makes training fun and delicious! Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for their rescue dogs, and I'd love to continue learning with you. I also have perfect crate manners and voluntarily go into my crate for bedtime and when my foster parents leave.
