Diamond

Diamond is a 5-year-old Pitbull and Husky mix who has been in rescue for 4 years through no fault of her own. If you need a "Ride or Die," she is your girl, and she absolutely loves a good car ride, silently judging the cars around her. Diamond has a bit of a genetic tug-of-war going on: her Pitbull side wants to snuggle on the couch with her favorite person, while her Husky side dreams of escaping to chase deer or visit neighborhood children. She doesn't always show her best self at adoptions; while people are drawn to her striking blue and brown eyes, Diamond tends to shrink away, seeking to make herself small. She tolerates initial petting from strangers but blossoms into an excited, loving companion once she learns to trust. Diamond has lived in two foster homes, with her second foster home being a better fit, as she does not do well with cats and spent a lot of time crated there. She still gets incredibly excited when she sees her former family, proving she never forgets those who earn her love. Once Diamond loves you, she melts into a "pibbie puddle" on the ground, eagerly awaiting belly rubs.

Ideal Home

Diamond would thrive in a home with a high fence (6+ feet) or with owners who don't mind regular leash walks. She does not do well with cats.

Ongoing Health

Diamond is fully vetted, including vaccines, spay surgery, and microchip. She has tested negative for heartworms.

Training & Support

Diamond is house-trained and knows to go potty promptly when walked. She can become overly excited when seeing her previous family, indicating she has strong bonds.
