Meet Nala Bean! This sweet 5-year-old, 12-lb mixed breed is ready for her second chance at a happy life. Nala Bean ended up with us when her previous owner could no longer give her the time she needed. Life hasn't always been easy for Nala Bean, and her past is a bit of a mystery, but we know she's mostly crate-trained and has a lot of energy. She can also experience some anxiety.
Nala Bean was briefly in a home after leaving us, but was returned due to an incident where she bit after being overly stimulated. This experience showed us she needs a special kind of adopter, one who understands the importance of moving slowly and creating a safe, trusting environment.
With our dedicated volunteers, Nala Bean has truly begun to shine. She can be shy initially and really appreciates it when people approach her gently and give her space. Once she feels safe and has had time to decompress, her affectionate and sweet nature comes out! She loves calm interactions and is eager to form a bond, but she needs someone who understands and respects her pace. She's still a little sensitive when handled around her neck, so continued patience will help her blossom.

Nala Bean would thrive in a calm, adult-only home environment. She needs a patient adopter who can provide the structure, reassurance, and time she's been missing. She would need to meet any resident dogs.
