Olive (In foster)

Carol is one of 13 Ridglan Farms beagles that we have the privilege of giving a new start to their journey. She is around 1.5 years old. Finding appropriate placement for these souls is our number one priority and due to their difficult beginning, we are seeking special placements for each of them. It's hard to describe the fear they experience from only spending time in cages and not given the freedom and enjoyment of the simple things that would be normal to any dog. What they have experienced makes them an extreme flight risk, and if they were to get lost, finding them will be nearly impossible. Everything is scary, every sound is new, every smell is intriguing, every experience presents an opportunity to build their confidence and help them form a new view on life. Our job is to advocate for them and to work diligently to find them not just a placement but the best placement we can.

Ideal Home

A securely fenced-in yard is a must. Homes with no small children or only maturely behaved children over 10 years old will be considered. A confident, dog-friendly dog would be ideal to help them thrive, and we are seeking a patient and experienced dog owner who understands this process will not be quick.

Ongoing Health

No specific health conditions are mentioned, but be prepared for many potty accidents for many months.

Training & Support

Expect a long adjustment period. You may need to create an indoor enclosure for an extended time as they learn that human touch is safe and enjoyable. Patience and understanding are key to earning their trust and love.
