Nicolas is a 1-2 year old Terrier mix, with a likely hint of Yorkie in his lineage. He was rescued from Beeville Animal Control after a kind person saw him being mistreated. He waited patiently for two weeks, but when no one came for him, he was in danger of euthanasia. We couldn't let that happen and immediately stepped in to give him a fresh start.
Nicolas is a bundle of affection, playfulness, and sweetness. He's always ready for fun, but he does have a preference for female canine companions – he's not keen on sharing his home with other male dogs, though he mixes well at the dog park. We envision him thriving in an energetic household, ideally with one or two doggy sisters to keep up with his lively play. His play style is energetic and vocal, a real rough-and-tumble affair, but he also knows how to be a good sport and can be quite submissive. Nicolas absolutely adores squeaky toys and can't get enough belly rubs! When it's time to wind down, he happily settles into his kennel or curls up for cuddles on the couch or in bed.
This cheerful fellow walks nicely on a leash and is great with kids. He'd also make a wonderful apartment dog. He currently wears a belly band and does wonderfully with it!
While we believe Nicolas might have some Yorkshire Terrier in him, it's always a fun guessing game with our wonderful street dogs!
Nicolas has made the journey from San Antonio, Texas, to embrace a new life filled with sunshine and mountain air here in Colorado! He is currently being fostered in Denver and is eager to meet you!
