Meet Lily! She's a sweet, loving 5-year-old Shepherd mix weighing in at 65 pounds. Lily was rescued from Mexico as a puppy and has a gentle soul. She can be a little timid when you first meet her, but she warms up quickly to those who give her affection. Her favorite thing in the world is to gaze into your eyes while you gently stroke her face. Lily also has a wonderfully goofy side! When she gets excited, which is often about yummy food or a good chin scratch, her whole body wiggles with her wagging tail.
Lily loves soaking up the sun or relaxing by an open door where she can feel a fresh breeze and listen to the sounds of nature. She enjoys walks but is also a bit of a homebody and can get tired on longer hikes or runs. Loud noises like fireworks can be a bit scary for her, and she'll often seek a safe spot in a closet or pantry when they're around.
Ideal Home
Lily would do well in a home that can offer her quiet comfort and gentle affection. While she's been around other dogs and generally gets along with them, she hasn't been around children or cats. We believe she'd do just fine with older children who understand her need for a calm environment.
Ongoing Health
Lily is spayed, healthy, and up-to-date on all her vaccinations. A couple of years ago, she had surgery to repair a torn ACL ligament. She recovered well, and any joint pain she experienced has since subsided, especially after reaching a healthy weight.
Training & Support
Lily is house-trained and knows some basic commands. She is highly food-motivated, which can be a great asset for continued training and learning new things.
