Shelby is a happy, goofy, and affectionate 6-month-old spayed female Shepherd/Hound/Terrier mix who is eager to bring joy and laughter into her forever home. Currently weighing 39 pounds, she's expected to be a large dog when fully grown with a distinctively long body. Shelby and her mom and sister were rescued from a shelter in San Antonio, Texas, after spending 40 days there. She has truly blossomed in her foster home and is now ready for her next adventure!

Shelby is a curious puppy with a playful spirit and a deep connection to her people. She loves to play hard and then rest hard, enjoying fetch and chase games. She's good with dogs of all sizes and understands canine cues, even offering submissive gestures when another dog asks for space. On leash, she's friendly and excited to greet other dogs. While she hasn't lived with cats, she showed gentle curiosity towards a bird, suggesting she may do well with proper introductions. Shelby lives with older children and is affectionate, playful, and gentle with them, indicating she'd likely be a wonderful addition to a family with younger children, provided they are patient with puppy behavior and training.

Transporation

Shelby is currently in a foster home in Washougal, Washington, and is available for meet-and-greets. Transports run every few weeks and approved dogs will be placed on the next available transport. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
