Nala Mae is a 6-year-old, spayed female Rottweiler mix who weighs around 46 pounds. She's a sweet, gentle, and well-mannered companion who settles into family life with ease. Nala has an easygoing personality and a heart full of love to give. She enjoys spending time with other dogs and has a playful side, but she's also happy to relax. She's been friendly and respectful when meeting smaller dogs, reading their social cues well and knowing when they've had enough playtime. Nala is completely non-reactive on walks and has excellent leash manners.
Ideal Home
Nala would thrive in a home with a moderate activity level where she can enjoy a daily walk and plenty of time with her people. While she'd likely enjoy having another friendly dog in the home, she doesn't require one. She currently lives with children ages 6 and 8 and has also spent time with a 5-year-old, and her foster describes her as incredibly gentle, patient, and loving with kids. She would be a wonderful addition to a home with children of any age.

Nala is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and is spayed.
Training & Support
Nala is fully house-trained and does well in her crate. Like many dogs adjusting to a new environment, she may bark or cry for a few minutes when first crated or left alone, but she settles down quickly. This mild separation anxiety is expected to improve as she becomes more comfortable in a consistent routine. Nala is very smart and eager to please, responding beautifully to verbal cues like "go lay down."

Nala Mae is currently located in Houston, Texas. She can be transported once an adopter is approved. Transport is included in her adoption donation.
