Meet Kai! This handsome young dog has a big presence and an even bigger need for the right home to help him shine. Kai originally came to another shelter as an owner surrender. He was adopted as a puppy by an older woman who quickly realized he was much more than she could handle at that stage of life. As a result, Kai spent a significant amount of time in a kennel environment and did not receive the socialization and exposure he needed during his early development. Because of this, Kai is considered undersocialized and is still learning how to navigate the world around him. New environments, people, and experiences can feel overwhelming at times, so he will need a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to go at his pace and help him build confidence step by step. Despite his rough start, Kai has a solid foundation to work from. He is known to be good with children and has shown that he knows his basic obedience commands, which gives him a great starting point for continued training and structure in a home setting. Kai is not a fit for homes with cats, as he is not cat tolerant. However, with the right guidance, routine, and calm leadership, he has the potential to continue growing into a more confident and well-adjusted companion. Kai is looking for someone who understands that dogs like him don't come pre-packaged with polish, but with time, patience, and consistency, they become some of the most loyal companions you could ever have.

Ideal Home

Kai needs a patient and understanding adopter who is willing to go at his pace and help him build confidence. He is not a fit for homes with cats.

Ongoing Health

Kai is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Kai is considered undersocialized and needs continued training and structure. He knows his basic obedience commands.
