Chef

Chef (3/25/21) is an 11-pound chihuahua mix who is bursting with love and energy! He was rescued from a difficult situation on St. Croix and has come to us to find his forever family. Chef enjoys observing the world from your lap or a comfy chair, and he’s always ready for snuggles and kisses. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and adjusts well to new surroundings. Chef gets along great with dogs his size or slightly larger, though very big dogs can make him a bit nervous until he feels comfortable. He does tend to bark at and chase cats when they run by, so a cat-free home or a home with cats who don’t mind a little playful pursuit would be ideal, as he does not hurt them. Chef is also an escape artist, so a securely fenced yard or consistent leash walking is essential for his safety. Due to his small size, we suggest no young children. Chef’s past is unknown, but his future is bright, and he’s hoping it includes you!

Ideal Home

A home with a securely fenced yard or a family committed to consistent leash walks. We suggest no young children due to his small size. A home without cats, or with cats who can handle a playful chase, would be best.

Ongoing Health

Chef is vaccinated, neutered, 4DX tested and negative for Lyme and heartworm, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Chef can be an escape artist, so secure containment is important. He may also bark and chase cats.
