Elmo is a 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with a heart of gold and a spirit of resilience. He came to us after a challenging experience, having been shot in the hip with a bullet that remains lodged near his spine. Thankfully, this bullet has become encapsulated, and veterinary specialists have advised that attempting removal would be far riskier than leaving it be. The wonderful news is that this medical history does not define Elmo's future! He is healthy, comfortable, and expected to live a long and joyful life.
Ideal Home
Elmo would thrive in a home that understands his needs and appreciates his calm companionship. While he's not suited for extreme sports like leaping or scaling tall peaks in his immediate future, he thoroughly enjoys his walks, his people, and his canine friends. He's good with other dogs and adores people. He has a particular appreciation for a high-quality dog bed where he can truly relax. He showed mild interest in cats, so dog-savvy felines would likely be fine. We recommend children over 10 or sturdy kids who understand that Elmo is not a pony, especially given his medical history. Elmo will be a large, solid adult, and he would do best in a home that understands he doesn't need to be an adventure athlete to be a wonderful companion.
Ongoing Health
