Meet Baxter!

This sweet young man is a mixed breed boy who currently weighs about 32 pounds. He is estimated to be around a year old, but may still continue to grow with time! Baxter arrived at our shelter as a stray and was sadly never reclaimed. Now, he's hoping his next stop will be a forever home where he can fully feel safe and settled.

The shelter has been a scary place for this gentle boy. He is a friendly fella, but the unfamiliar environment and all of the hustle and bustle of shelter life can feel overwhelming to him. Because of this, he often prefers to take things slow as he learns that the world isn't such a scary place after all. Despite his nervousness, Baxter has a gentle heart and a whole lot of love to give!

Ideal Home

Baxter is searching for a calm and patient family that will let him move at his own pace and celebrate the little wins along the way. He would do best in a home with children 10 and older while he learns to gain some confidence and continue to grow into his big boy paws!

Ongoing Health

Baxter will be undergoing neuter surgery soon. His adoption can be finalized after his procedure is complete.

Training & Support

With time, consistency, and lots of love, Baxter will quickly blossom into the wonderful companion we know he's capable of becoming. Baxter showed glimpses of confidence during his dog test and enjoyed playing with another dog. Having another dog around may help him continue to gain trust. He has the potential to live with another dog in the home and has the potential to live with a feline friend with proper introductions.
