Betty

Meet Betty! This sweet 5-year-old girl is looking for her forever home. Betty is a playful pup who loves to swim, go on hikes, and chase balls in the backyard. She's also a champion cuddler, enjoying lap time and sleeping under the blankets. Betty is completely housetrained and knows commands, especially when treats are involved! She's a smart cookie who loves to chew on bones, bully sticks, and her favorite stuffed animals.

Ideal Home

Betty would thrive in a home with older children who can understand her need for space. While she enjoys the company of dogs she knows, introductions to new canine friends should be done slowly. She can be a bit protective of her food when other dogs are around, so this will need to be managed.

Ongoing Health

Betty has hip and knee dysplasia, a manageable condition that may require downtime when she's not feeling her best. She currently does not require pain medication. She also experiences anxiety during fireworks and thunderstorms, for which she has been prescribed medication. Her vaccinations are up-to-date.

Training & Support

Betty is treat-motivated and responsive to commands. While she can be anxious and bark or growl when meeting new people, she warms up quickly and becomes friendly and affectionate. Managing her food-related protectiveness around other dogs will be important.
