Rufus has the kindest eyes, doesn't he? This 2-year-old, 15 lb (but expected to gain a few pounds!) neutered Yorkie/Lhasa Apso mix is a scruffy charmer ready to leave his past behind and shower his new family with love. He was abandoned at an apartment complex and left to fend for himself, but thankfully, a kind soul stepped in and helped him until rescue could take him. Despite his rough start, Rufus is incredibly sweet, trusting, and eager to be your devoted companion. He's a true "Velcro dog" who loves being wherever you are, whether that's snuggled on the couch, following you around, or simply resting in your lap.
Ideal Home
Rufus is looking for a true companion – a loyal sidekick, couch buddy, and walking partner who will love him with their whole heart and never leave him behind again. He's wonderful with other dogs of all sizes and respects their space. He doesn't rely on canine companionship, so he'd likely be happy as an only dog as long as he gets plenty of attention from his humans.
Ongoing Health
Rufus is currently a little underweight and is expected to reach a healthy weight of 18-20 lbs. As a Yorkie/Lhasa Apso mix, he will likely require regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and prevent matting.
Training & Support
Rufus is crate trained and settles well. He occasionally offers gentle play nibbles, typical of a young dog. He's still working on house training, but this is expected to improve with a consistent routine and now that he's neutered. He walks beautifully on leash, shows no reactivity, and is a fantastic car rider.
