Penny is a gorgeous Rhodesian ridgeback mix weighing approximately 50 lbs and is the sweetest girl! She's about 1 year and 3 months old and has a remarkable story of resilience. Penny was found in January 2026 in a cemetery with over a dozen other dogs, where she had to fend for herself. Despite her tough beginnings, she's incredibly loving and trusts people, melting hearts with her sweetness. She's a bit shy at first, but quickly blossoms into a loyal best friend. Penny is very active and loves to romp and play, especially with other dogs. She's also gentle with pigs and enjoys playing with them.
Ideal Home
Penny would thrive in an active home with another dog to play with and tire her out. She'd love an owner who wants an adventurous shadow and best friend. She is an escape artist, so a secure yard is essential.
Ongoing Health
Penny is heartworm positive and has received a 30-day course of antibiotics. She will need to stay on heartworm prevention for 12-16 months and be retested afterward. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and has been de-wormed. She will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to transport.
Training & Support
Penny is MOSTLY house-trained and will need consistency to master it 100%. She walks okay on a leash but will need more practice to be perfect. She has great recall once familiar with her surroundings.
