SUNFLOWER

Sunflower is a sweet, slightly shy dog who adores people and gets upset if someone walks away from her kennel, giving a quick bark. She can be stubborn and a little lazy on leash walks, preferring to avoid areas she perceives as unfriendly. Contrary to her energetic name, Sunflower is very heat sensitive and prefers shorter walks in cooler weather. She is more of a couch potato than a fitness freak and will benefit from a patient adopter who will help her rebuild her confidence and provide lots of chill time. Sunflower recently met some social dogs at the shelter and did fine; while she wasn’t ready to play, we hope she will gain confidence in playgroups and show off her silly side with other dogs.

Training & Support

Sunflower can be stubborn and baulk on leash walks in perceived unfriendly territory. She will benefit from an adopter who can patiently help her build confidence and encourage her on walks. She has met some social dogs and did okay, but may need continued socialization to feel comfortable playing with other dogs.

Transporation

Sunflower is located at the Bradshaw Animal Shelter, 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. Adoptions are first-come, first-served. You can visit the shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, and Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm.
