Meet Dakota! She's a beautiful, spirited, and very smart 5-year-old girl who's ready to find a home that matches her energy and love for life. Dakota is full of personality and always tuned in to what's going on around her, especially if there are squirrels to watch! This girl has energy to spare, loves going on walks, and exploring the world by your side. She would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where she can zoom around safely. Dakota is also a big fan of fetch and absolutely loves squeaky balls – they're her favorite way to play! She enjoys being close, will happily lean in for a good snuggle, and forms strong bonds with those she loves. Dakota is a loyal, loving companion who will bring fun, affection, and lots of personality into the right home. Her adoption fee is sponsored by a friend of Greenmore.

Ideal Home

Dakota would do best in a home with teenagers or older who understand how to respect her space and boundaries. She would prefer to be the only dog in the home so she can soak up all the attention. Households with children under 8 years of age must have a physical fence attached to the home or an electric/invisible fence.

Ongoing Health

Greenmore Rescue performs the 4dx blood test on all adult dogs free of charge. This blood test checks for diseases such as Lyme and Heartworm Disease. If Dakota tests positive for any of these conditions, treatment will have already been started or completed. Your Adoption Counselor will review any findings with you and we will provide all medical records, along with any medication she may need at the time of adoption. Dakota is crate-trained.

Training & Support

Dakota can be dog selective and does best with slow introductions. While she's non-reactive in the kennel and around fence-line neighbors, she can sometimes be leash-reactive, so continued training and structure will help her keep building great habits.
