Meet Mylo – a 4-year-old, neutered, 44-pound Cattle Dog mix with a tongue that just can’t be tamed and a heart that’s even bigger. Mylo is a silly, curious, and affectionate guy who loves to play and explore. He has a classic Cattle Dog energy, thriving on daily activity, long walks, and romping in the yard. He's a social butterfly with other dogs, doing well with pups of all sizes, and he's vocal when he plays, making lots of charming noises that are just part of his personality. Mylo has also shown he's good with children and responds well to redirection and praise. He's a smart boy who loves routine and benefits from clear communication. Mylo is currently waiting for his forever family and is ready to transport out of state once approved.
Ideal Home
Mylo would thrive in a moderately active home with a yard or access to one for running, sniffing, and sunbathing. He needs a family who will provide daily walks or fetch sessions to burn energy. While he's done well with kids of various ages, a home with older children (10+) is recommended due to his occasional jumping and enthusiasm. He would also likely enjoy the company of a friendly dog or two. A feline-free home is best, as he has shown interest in chasing cats.
Ongoing Health
Mylo has a unique characteristic: his tongue is a little too long for his mouth, causing it to be almost always visible. A vet has confirmed this is a natural occurrence with no underlying health issues, though it may require him to have a little extra hydration. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage, which is not a cause for concern.
Training & Support
Mylo is house-trained and can be trusted when unsupervised. He is still working on manners, particularly jumping and his excitement when taking treats. A patient home that understands his background and allows him to settle in at his own pace will be beneficial, as he may occasionally flinch at quick movements or new objects. Continued positive reinforcement for basic manners will help him thrive.
