Meet Hank, a handsome, neutered boy around 3 years old who is searching for the right home to call his own. Hank is a happy, social dog who truly loves people. He adores children and has done wonderfully with grandkids, but because of his large size and enthusiastic energy, we recommend a home with older children who won't be easily knocked over during his excited greetings. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys trying to play with his canine friends, though he can be a little rough at times simply because he gets excited - never out of aggression. He also lives with cats and mostly ignores them. Hank is housebroken and loves the outdoors. One of his favorite things in the world is swimming, so if you have a pond, pool, or access to water, Hank will be in heaven! He would thrive in a home with some land to run and explore. He has also been around chickens and generally ignores them, though he may join in if another dog starts chasing them. Hank has leash experience and walked well with his previous owner's husband, but he is a strong boy and still needs work learning proper leash manners, as he can pull when excited. Hank's ideal home requires large breed experience and a family willing to continue his training. He would thrive in a home with older children only due to his size and energy, and with room to run and play. Hank is a lovable, goofy boy with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He just needs the right person to help him channel all that joy into becoming the very best companion.
