Sophie

Meet Sophie, a courageous and affectionate 2–3-year-old dog who recently traveled from Texas to find her forever home. While her exact mix is a mystery, one vet thought she might be a Coonhound, and we’ve guessed Mastiff, though she’s not as large as one might expect, likely reaching 80-85 lbs when fully grown. Sophie is sweet, eager to please, and has completed obedience training. She has also undergone heartworm treatment.

Ideal Home

Sophie would thrive in a home with experienced large-breed adopters who understand decompression and how to work with a rescued dog. She is great with the children in her foster home (ages 9 and 11), but any new dog should have supervised introductions with children. Sophie gets along with larger dogs with proper introductions, but we do not recommend cats or small dogs for her. A patient, slow-introductions approach will help Sophie settle in and bring out her best self.

Sophie has successfully completed heartworm treatment.

Training & Support
