Rufus

Rufus is a sweet 8-month-old, 20 lb Labrador Retriever mix who was rescued from a dire situation when he was found abandoned as a small puppy. He's been fully vetted and is now ready to find his forever family. Rufus is a shy boy who will need time and patience to decompress and feel safe in his new home. He currently lives with 8 other dogs in Puerto Rico and would do well with another dog in his adoptive home to help him gain confidence and learn the ropes. Saving a dog like Rufus, who others might overlook due to shyness, is incredibly rewarding.

Ideal Home

Rufus needs a family with a fenced-in yard where he can feel secure. He'll thrive with patient owners who understand he'll need time to adjust and build trust.

Ongoing Health

Rufus is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated.

Training & Support

Rufus is shy and will need encouragement and time to become more comfortable. Having another dog in the home is recommended to help him learn and feel more at ease.

Rufus is currently located in Puerto Rico and will be flown to Newark, NJ for adoption. You will need to travel to Newark, NJ to pick him up.
