Meadow

Meadow is a sweet 16-month-old dog who, despite some anxiety, is looking for her forever home. She was rescued in early August 2021 and has had a few setbacks due to her anxieties. In her previous homes, she showed destructive behaviors when left alone in smaller spaces and attempted to escape by climbing a fence. Meadow can be dog-aggressive, possibly due to barrier frustration, but is good with children and adults. She has shown no issues when kenneled with another dog and is friendly towards people. Meadow did bite a volunteer on the knuckles when her collar was grabbed to stop her from fence-fighting with a neighboring dog. She is loyal and appreciative, and with the right support, we believe she will be a wonderful companion. She knows some commands, walks well on a leash, and enjoys playing fetch.

Ideal Home

Meadow would thrive in a home with a tall block wall (at least 6 feet) for security, and a family that isn't gone for extended periods. A mellow, low-stress environment where she is the only dog would be ideal to minimize competition for attention.

Ongoing Health

Meadow has shown some behavioral challenges related to anxiety, including destructive behaviors and fence-climbing when left alone.

Training & Support

Meadow is working on managing her anxiety and dog-aggression. She walks well on leash, knows some commands, and enjoys fetch. Consistent training and a predictable, low-stress environment will help her succeed.
