Simon

Simon is a stunning Anatolian Shepherd boy who unfortunately experienced a gunshot injury before arriving at the shelter. While we hoped he could manage with the buckshot and bullet fragments, even after months, he continued to limp due to the pain from a large fragment and shrapnel. Our veterinarian recommended amputation as the best course of action, and Simon has made a full recovery and is adapting wonderfully to life on three legs. He's been a gem with all the dogs he's met, from playful puppies to wise seniors. Simon has good house manners and walks well on a leash, though he's still finding his perfect stride on three legs, so he prefers off-leash exploration. Initially, we thought Simon might be a livestock guardian dog and kept him in a barn setting where he coexisted peacefully with our barn cats. With careful introductions and supervision, we believe he could live with feline friends again, though he'd benefit from a refresher on house cat manners since he's been living in a cat-free house while recovering. Simon is a true love sponge, eager to soak up all the affection you can offer!
