About Squashy Nice

This funny mug belongs to Squashy Nice! We call her Squash, Squish, Squoosh, Smoosh, Shorty McSnorty, Speed Bump, or Buzzsaw. She’s a petite Frenchie pup who had the misfortune to be used by a breeder, but when her basic medical needs started to put a dent in the profits, they abandoned her. Thankfully, after she was found roaming the streets with bad ear infections, our rescue vet was able to heal her ears with medication. Now her ears look great and she's ready to find a responsible, loving family of her own! Squash was probably born around February 2023 and is 22 pounds. She’s a roly-poly little girl who snorts enough to give pigs a run for their money! She has the energy of an area rug, with an occasional zoomie thrown in. She was a bit unruly as an adolescent but has been working hard on her manners and her foster family is very impressed with her progress.

Ideal Home

We are looking for pet parents who understand leadership and appreciate well-mannered puppies. Your home should be peaceful and low-energy, preferably with a mellow companion dog. A fenced yard is required, though it doesn't have to be large. Stairs are difficult for her, so a home with few stairs is best. Older children are preferred if any.

Ongoing Health

Squash has healed ear infections and is ready for her new home. As a brachycephalic breed, she comes with potential health concerns that require understanding and financial commitment. Many Frenchies require airway surgery to breathe easier, and heat stroke is a major concern. Skin issues and allergies are also common, and spinal issues can sometimes result in rear-end paralysis. She already has a slight hitch in her step and should take it easy, avoid being overly rambunctious, and absolutely no jumping on and off furniture.

Training & Support

Squash is treat-motivated and has learned a lot about good manners in her foster home. She can be barky when she sees new people or dogs, but she will stop if asked. She enjoys stealing big dogs’ beds, napping, snuggling, eating, and laying in the middle of the floor.
