Rye Sweet as Pie Loves Everyone Dog Labrador Retriever

Rye is a 2-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, weighing about 56 lbs and still has some weight to gain. He's a bundle of sunshine and happiness, with a goofy grin that's sure to brighten your day. Rye loves to snuggle and will shower you with affection, whether it's a full-body hug or a playful nudge. He's a real lover boy, goofball, and adventure buddy all rolled into one! Rye greets everyone like an old friend and is eager to please. He can get a little jumpy when excited, but with some positive reinforcement, he's quickly learning to sit for praise. He's generally polite with other dogs, especially calm females, and has shown curiosity and respect towards cats. Rye is also wonderful with children and would make a fantastic family pet.

Ideal Home

Rye would thrive in a home that enjoys playtime, walks, and provides some structure. While he could do well in an apartment with plenty of exercise and enrichment, a house with a yard would be his dream come true.

Ongoing Health

Rye is a young, healthy dog. All vetting, including DAPP vaccination with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, spay/neuter, and a microchip, is up to date.

Training & Support

Rye is working on his leash manners, as he can be a bit boisterous when walking. He responds well to corrections and loves treats, making him a great candidate for continued training success.

Rye is located in Texas. Transport is available nationwide through our rescue's USDA-certified transport system, with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. You can track your pet's journey in real-time and receive photo updates. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
