Zara

Zara is a beautiful 1-year-old female Alaskan Malamute with a stunning black and white coat. She's a gentle soul who forms deep bonds with her trusted humans. Zara loves her plush toys, frisbees, and anything that involves water, especially sprinklers and the garden hose. She's also a clever girl who enjoys puzzle toys like "find your ball." Zara is crate-trained, completely housebroken, and will ring a bell to let you know when it's time to go outside. She has completed both basic obedience and agility training, and knows a wide variety of verbal cues.

Ideal Home

Zara would do best in a calm, predictable home where she has the time and space to truly settle in. Due to her unease with fast, unpredictable movements, she is not recommended for homes with children. A securely fenced yard is strongly preferred to ensure her safety. While she has done well with other dogs and cats, introductions should always be thoughtful. Zara is generally more comfortable with women and may take time to warm up to new people, preferring to create distance until she feels safe.

Ongoing Health

Zara is current on vaccinations and has received regular vet checks and deworming. She has no known physical injuries, but an incident during agility training has impacted her confidence.

Training & Support

Zara is crate trained, housebroken, and knows many verbal cues. She can be a flight risk if startled, so secure handling on leash is important. Like many Malamutes, she has a strong prey drive and should not be trusted around small prey animals. Patience and understanding will be key as she settles into her new environment.

Zara is located in Independence, Virginia. She can be picked up there, the breeder can meet you halfway, or she can travel to you.
