Lucy is a sweet girl with a calm demeanor, content to relax on the back porch until she hears her favorite people coming home or some neighborhood excitement. She's a mix of blue heeler and Australian shepherd, weighing in at a healthy 65 lbs. Lucy and her sister Roxie were rescued by the Humane Society of Faulkner County, Arkansas, after being found with their 10 siblings dumped on a rural road. They were adopted in December 2018 and have been showered with love ever since.
Ideal Home
Lucy would be happy to find a new home with her sister Roxie, but she also enjoys her independence, especially when she's getting plenty of attention. She's excellent with children and will warm up to new people quickly after an initial friendly bark. A securely fenced yard is a must for Lucy to enjoy her outdoor naps and keep an eye on the world.
Ongoing Health
Lucy is healthy and recently completed her annual wellness checkup. She is current on her rabies, Bordetella, and lepto vaccines and is on Heartgard for heartworm prevention and a Seresto collar for flea and tick control.
Training & Support
Lucy is a smart and responsive girl who was trained at the Little Rock Dog Club. She is house-trained, has never chewed anything in the house (she has plenty of chew toys!), and doesn't climb on furniture. She is used to sleeping on a dog bed in the bedroom. While she generally avoids chewing household items, she has a fondness for the texture of drip irrigation spikes for landscaping, so this is something to be mindful of.
