Hello there! My name is Rose Lavelle, and I'm a spirited pup named after a talented soccer player! Just like my namesake, I've got creativity and a surprising zest for life. I absolutely adore playing with balls and tug toys, and I love to playfully surprise the resident dog I live with. I'm working hard on my leash manners and walk very close to you – so much so, you might need to watch your step! Potty training is coming along nicely, and I'm even starting to ring the bells on the door to let you know I need to go out. My crate is my cozy den, especially when it's covered with a blanket, and I usually sleep through most of the night. As a baby, I do sometimes need to go out in the middle of the night. I also do well in my crate when my foster mom needs to leave, which she says is for my own good, so I try to be a big girl about it. I'm currently living with my foster mom, a dog named Mr. Ted, and a rabbit. I also have the joy of interacting with my foster mom's visiting grandkids, and I love playing with them! My foster mom does say that I can't be left unsupervised with the very young children because they might not know the best way to play with me. My foster mom is teaching me so many wonderful things, like walking on a leash, mastering potty breaks, and the art of sitting for attention. I'm a real keen learner and enjoy exploring new experiences, from walking on unusual surfaces to navigating tunnels and even dabbling in playing the piano! I'm a very special girl because I'm deaf. This really isn't a big deal at all, as most dogs learn best through visual cues. Hand signals work wonderfully once you have my attention. My foster mom often gently touches my rear end to get me to look at her for direction. When I'm a bit further away, a gentle stomp on the floor gets my attention, and I come running! I have an abundance of love to give, and I'm hoping you'll let me share it with you forever.
Ideal Home
A home where I can continue to learn and grow. My foster mom mentions I can't be left alone with very young children due to their age and potential for not knowing how to play appropriately with me.
Ongoing Health
No specific health concerns were mentioned.
Training & Support
I am working on leash walking and potty training. I am learning to use bells on the door to signal when I need to go out. I am deaf, but I respond well to hand signals and physical cues like a touch on the rear or a stomp on the floor to get my attention.
