Apollo is a big, happy goofball who's estimated to be around 10 months old and currently weighs about 74 lbs. He's a German Shepherd / Great Pyrenees mix with a heart full of love! Apollo is incredibly sweet and smart; he adores hugs, plenty of pets, and just being near his people. He's a big fan of outdoor fun like running, playing fetch, and exploring the yard for sticks. He's also comfortable with regular grooming and even enjoys the snow!

Ideal Home

Apollo would thrive in an active home with a fenced backyard, ideally with someone who works from home or can provide him with ample exercise and attention. He needs a cat-free home, as he gets too excited and plays too rough with them.

Ongoing Health

Apollo experienced some digestive issues early on, which may have been a reaction to NexGard Plus. He's now doing wonderfully on Purina Sensitive Stomach food with added fiber and probiotics.

Training & Support

Apollo knows commands like sit, down, wait, shake, and crate, and he's also mat-trained. He's working on his leash walking skills and his "come" command. While he's crate-trained and can spend several hours in his crate, he's high-energy and playful, and will do best with a family ready for his size and enthusiasm.

Transportation

All of our dogs are fostered in Texas and we transport twice a month. Transport is included in our adoption fees.

• Illinois: Collinsville (north of St. Louis) - Friday evening, Springfield - Friday evening, Bloomington / Normal - Friday evening, Oglesby - Saturday morning, Roscoe - Saturday morning

• Wisconsin: Sun Prairie - Saturday late morning, Fond du Lac - Saturday early afternoon

• Green Bay area adopters meet in Fond du Lac.

• Davenport area adopters meet in Oglesby or Roscoe.
