Gabriel is lovingly called Gramps by his foster family. He is a gorgeous toy Australian Shepherd that is approximately 8 years of age and less than 10 lbs. He's part pup, part cuddle monster who wants nothing more than to be attached to his person. He's happy to join you on conference calls, while you read a book, or even in the kitchen while you cook. This tiny shadow is an Excel master, he sits on his foster mom's lap as she works and he's picked up a thing or two! Gabriel wants nothing more than a warm lap to cuddle with and a couple toys to fling around and defluff. Don't let his age fool you, because this adorable guy still has so much pep in his step and loves to do zoomies in the yard and play fetch with his foster siblings. He currently lives in a foster home with 3 big dogs and four cats. While he does sometimes show his small dog sass, he's done amazing learning the swing of things. Gabriel was handed over to rescue for various reasons, which included no kiddos and because of his luxating patellas. The rescue had them looked at. While they are grades 2 and 3, the orthopedic did not recommend surgery. In addition, this boy has NO PROBLEMS doing zoomies in the backyard.
Ideal Home
Gabriel LOVES cuddling, soft fuzzy blankets and would do best with someone who LOVES cuddles and is home frequently. He is not a fan of the crate and will protest being in one for long periods of time. After all, his main goal is to be your lap dog. He would do best in a home without small children.
Ongoing Health
Gabriel has luxating patellas, which are grades 2 and 3. The orthopedic did not recommend surgery, and he has no problems doing zoomies in the backyard. He is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.
Training & Support
Gabriel has done well with potty training while on a consistent schedule. He does well for car rides and grooming. He is not a fan of the crate and will protest being in one for long periods of time.
