Loki

Loki is a brave, bold, and endlessly entertaining 6.5-month-old Retriever/Pit Bull mix who is always the first to investigate something new. He was rescued from the woods with his mom and siblings and has grown up loved and cared for in a foster home. Loki is a fearless explorer, a champion climber, and loves to play keep-away with his toys. He is potty trained and eager to learn, with a sweet side that emerges after a day of adventure, turning him into a cuddly lap buddy. He loves people and other dogs and seems to love life, greeting everyone with enthusiasm.

Ideal Home

Loki would thrive in a home where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time, as he benefits from regular interaction and potty breaks. He would do best in a home with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help him learn appropriate play and boundaries. He has been around children and has not yet been tested with cats.

Loki is a healthy young dog.

Training & Support

Loki is potty trained, but a few accidents may occur as he adjusts to a new routine. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Continued positive reinforcement, consistency, and leash practice will help him mature into an exceptional adult dog. Ongoing socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is crucial for building his lifelong confidence. If not living with another dog, structured training classes, supervised daycare, and regular playdates with trusted dogs will be beneficial.

Transporation

Loki is currently located in Houston, Texas. He can transport to an approved adopter arranged by the rescue. Transports run every few weeks, and he will be on the next available transport once approved.
