Ryder

Ryder is a four-year-old Irish Doodle (3/4 Standard Poodle, 1/4 Irish setter) who is a smart and loving companion. He weighs about 55 pounds and has excellent recall, listening very well. Ryder is already house trained, crate trained, and leash trained, making him a well-behaved addition to any home.

Ideal Home

Ryder would thrive in a home that is free of cats, as he is known to chase them. He is generally good with other dogs. Due to his intelligence and past experiences, Ryder needs a very dog-savvy home that can provide firm yet gentle guidance. He does not understand personal space with children and assumes they are on his level, so he is not a good fit for a home with kids.

Ongoing Health

Ryder's main challenge is grooming. He experienced mistreatment during grooming when he was younger, which makes it a scary experience for him. However, he tolerates it well when muzzled, accepting it without a fight.

Training & Support

It would be wonderful if Ryder's new family is comfortable with at-home grooming, though it is not a strict requirement. His intelligence means he needs a home that can dedicate time to continued training and understanding his needs.

Transportation

Ryder is currently located in South Mississippi. We personally transport our adopted animals every 2-3 weeks to locations including VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY.
