Zac is a 5-year-old, neutered male Anatolian Shepherd mix who weighs about 60 pounds. He's a handsome boy with a perfect balance of playful energy and laid-back cuddles. Zac was rescued from a county shelter and underwent FHO surgery on a back leg due to a previous untreated injury. He has since healed completely and requires no further medical intervention or medication. Zac is the definition of a loyal companion, enjoying time with other dogs before settling in for some relaxation next to his people. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and respectful of other dogs, regardless of their size. On walks, he remains calm and doesn't react to other dogs, making him an easygoing companion. Inside the home, Zac is a relaxed, low-energy dog who simply wants to be near his loved ones. He thrives on attention, belly rubs, and gentle pets, and is known to be quite conversational, especially if dinner is late! He has done well meeting new people and is comfortable in the car. Zac enjoys toys and treats and shows no signs of resource guarding. While he hasn't lived with young children, his foster believes he would do well with a family willing to teach him not to jump up when excited.
Ideal Home
Zac would thrive in a home where he won't spend long periods alone. He enjoys the company of other dogs and seems happiest when he has a canine companion or people nearby to share his life with. Whether you are a family or a single adopter, if you're looking for a devoted dog who will shower you with love and keep you company, Zac is ready for the role.
Ongoing Health
Zac has fully healed from his FHO surgery and requires no ongoing medical care or medication.
Training & Support
Zac is house-trained and crate-trained. He also walks calmly on leash and doesn't react to other dogs. While he hasn't lived with young children, his foster suggests that he would benefit from continued training to help him refrain from jumping up when excited.
