Max

Meet Max, also known as Senor, Senor Snooter, and Senor Max! This handsome 3-year-old beagle has a nose that leads him into mischief, but also brings him plenty of cuddles and affection. Max is a purebred beagle through and through, and his personality shines with his loud baying, loving hugs (he's getting pretty good at giving them on command!), and undeniable cuteness. He gets along with the cats and dogs in his foster home, though he does have a tendency to chase the cats, and he's had a run-in with a neighborhood rooster! While he can adjust to other pets, a home where he can be the star might be ideal.

Ideal Home

Max would likely do best as an only pet, but can adjust to a home with other dogs and cats if given time and proper introductions. He needs a home that understands the beagle breed and is patient with his tendencies. A securely fenced yard or an electronic fence is a must, as Max is a runner. He is not suited for homes with young children or toddlers, as he can be hesitant and snap if startled or if someone reaches over him.

Ongoing Health

Max is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all his vaccines and flea/tick treatments.

Training & Support

Max is house-trained with a regular schedule, though he may occasionally pee on dog beds. He is learning English commands but currently understands Spanish. He needs continued training and management to prevent him from getting into garbage, stealing food, and to help him manage interactions with new dogs and cats. He also dislikes having his nails touched, but loves baths.
