About Pop
Hello, I'm Pop! I have super soft fur and cute white markings on my nose. I'm usually very happy and love to snuggle. When the oven is on, I enjoy sleeping nearby to soak up the warmth! My fur is thicker and fuller than most pitties, suggesting a mix like Border Collie. I came here from New Mexico with my brother and sister when I was very young, so my memories of then are hazy.
I am proudly potty trained! I'll signal when I need to go out by lying down by the door. I'm also kennel trained, though I much prefer not to be in one. I'm trustworthy enough to be left out on my own and don't chew on things – I usually just sleep. At night, I love to sleep as close to my foster mom as possible; she's so warm! I know "sit," "stay," "wait," and "off." I'm currently working on "come."
I'm quite food-motivated, with peanut butter and yogurt being my favorites! I always wait for the "okay" command before eating. I'm also improving at taking treats gently when reminded. I live with a wonderful 10-year-old foster sister and have met her friends. I'm very good with my foster sister but tend to bark at her friends initially. I'm a bit unsure about young children because they can be fast-moving, but after about 10 minutes, I calm down and enjoy giving them licks. I'm not sure what a cat is, but I absolutely love other dogs! I'm my slightly younger foster brother's emotional support dog; he needs to be right beside me. I love playing with my almost two-year-old, 55lb foster sister in games like tug, keep away, and chase. My almost four-year-old, 96lb foster brother tolerates my playful poking. My favorite doggy activities include wrestling, zoomies, and tug-of-war. I also enjoy neighborhood walks.
Why am I the best dog in the whole world? I'm smart and eager to learn! I want to be friends with everyone, though I take my time warming up. I adore snuggles and affection. I'm ready for adventures and explorations, and I'd make a fantastic hiking buddy and travel companion. Most of all, I just want to be with my people, have a dog friend, and live the best life possible.
What would my dream day consist of? A morning walk, a good breakfast, lots of playtime, a morning nap, a lunch snack, more playtime, an afternoon nap, dinner, playtime, snuggles, and a final potty break before bedtime.
What TV or movie character am I most like? Puff the Magic Dragon, because my foster mom made up her own lyrics to the song just for me!
My favorite toys include stuffies and hard plastic chew toys. Anything for a good game of tug is also awesome! Play all day or cuddles and snoozes? I prefer to play as much as possible, with plenty of long naps in between.
What makes my body wiggle and my tail wag harder than anything? When my people come home!
My dream forever family would have older children, another dog, and enjoy an active lifestyle. Sleeping in bed with my person is a must! I deserve an awesome family that will continue to work with me on my quirks and celebrate my amazingness every day!
